Central Homes has succeeded in their bid to refurbish a building on Lichfield Road in Walsall as a budget hotel. The completed refurb will consist of 30 double bedrooms and 10 single rooms. A statement submitted to the council on behalf of the bid application by Central Homes said: "The proposal aims to convert an existing building in Walsall, currently used for offices, into a budget hotel. "The proposal will include plans to extended two storeys on one side and two storeys at the back.
Legal and General have published plans to turn the recently vacated House of Fraser department store in Birmingham city centre into a multi-usage scheme including about 500,000 square feet of office space, and 105,00 square feet of bars, restaurants, retail and a 200-room hotel.
The West Midlands Digital Skills Partnership held its first meeting earlier this month. This is a group which brings together local tech firms, businesses, universities, colleges and training providers, including Amazon and Cisco, in order to devise strategies to improve digital skills and qualifications.
