Plans for opening a new restaurant that will create 40 local jobs have been approved by Birmingham City Council, a recent news report in the local media has been able to suggest.
Tasty plc, which trades as Wildwood, submitted an application to change the use of the basement and ground floor of 66 New Street in September 2016.
The basement would provide 24 covers for diners while the ground floor will comprise 76 covers and a bar. The upper floors of the property already have consent to be turned into apartments.
Birmingham City Council planning officers said the "proposals would be in keeping with the surrounding area".
The restaurant will be Wildwood's first outlet in Birmingham and its fifth in the wider West Midlands. The brand currently has sites in Worcester, Ludlow, Telford and Stratford-upon-Avon.
