Thousands of jobs to be created as part of Lincolnshire shopping park redevelopment

Thousands of job could be created in Lincolnshire under plans to level an existing shopping park on the banks of the River Witham and replace it with a new development comprising, shops, restaurants, bars, homes, student accommodation and a hotel. The scheme submitted to the City of Lincoln Council suggests that a number of existing buildings will be demolished to make way for almost 355,000 sq ft of retail space, 82,500 sq ft for restaurant and bar use and up to 150 homes.

Plans for opening a new restaurant that will create 40 local jobs have been approved by Birmingham City Council, a recent news report in the local media has been able to suggest. Tasty plc, which trades as Wildwood, submitted an application to change the use of the basement and ground floor of 66 New Street in September 2016.

Online car retailer goes on recruitment drive

A well-known online car retailer based in Nottingham has revealed plans to go on a recruitment drive, aiming to add 300 extra technicians to its staff, a news report in the local business media has been able to reveal. Pendragon is aiming to fill the new roles, which will include a number of apprentices, before the end of 2016. They will be spread across Pendragon’s Evans Halshaw and Stratstone sites.

Cycling retailer to create multiple new jobs as part of massive restructure process

A cycling retailer is set to create 70 to 80 new jobs in Wolverhampton following a massive restructure process, a news report has been able to suggest. Wiggle and Chain Reaction Cycles merged in February this year to create a business with revenues of more than £300m. However, the now-named WiggleCRC has revealed plans to consolidate its operations after an operational post-merger review.
